ROW Approval for 400 MW Solar + 700 MW Storage
The Bureau of Land Management approved a right-of-way (ROW) grant authorizing construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of the Rough Hat Clark Solar Project on about 2,469 acres of BLM-managed land in Pahrump Valley, Clark County, Nevada. The project authorizes a 400-megawatt photovoltaic facility, 700 megawatts of battery energy storage, and a 230 kV transmission line to the GridLiance Trout Canyon Substation.
Visual Resource Management Reclassified to VRM IV
The Approved Resource Management Plan Amendment changes the 1998 Las Vegas Resource Management Plan to reclassify the project area from Visual Resource Management (VRM) Class III to VRM Class IV for the Rough Hat Clark Solar Project area in Clark County, Nevada. That reclassification is part of the final decision authorizing the project.
Decision Final and Not Appealable
The Department of the Interior approved the BLM decision to issue the ROW grant and the Record of Decision documents that approval as the Department's final decision. The ROD states that this approval is not subject to appeal under Departmental regulations at 43 CFR part 4.
