Federal Legal Indemnity for Officers

The Secretary of Defense must also determine within 90 days how such assets, training, non-lethal capabilities, and personnel can be used to prevent crime.
Federal Action Against Officials Who Block Policing
The Attorney General will pursue legal remedies and prioritize prosecution under Federal criminal law against State or local jurisdictions whose officials willfully and unlawfully obstruct criminal law or unlawfully engage in discrimination under the guise of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that restrict law enforcement. This enforcement priority is directed by the April 28, 2025 order.
Increased Federal Investment in Crime Data
Federal agencies are directed to increase investment in the collection, distribution, and uniformity of crime data across jurisdictions as part of maximizing Federal resources for law enforcement. This is an explicit objective of the order issued April 28, 2025.
