These changes help businesses and shoppers by cutting costs and boosting trade between the U.S. and the UK.

Tariff Rate Quota for UK Cars

Starting June 16, 2025, the U.S. will establish a tariff rate quota on automobiles that are products of the United Kingdom. This means imports of UK-made cars will be subject to a quota with a specific tariff treatment under that quota instead of the previous tariff rules.

Preferential Tariffs for UK Auto Parts

Starting June 16, 2025, automobile parts that are products of the United Kingdom and used in UK automobiles will receive preferential tariff treatment. If you import UK auto parts for use in UK cars, those parts will be subject to the new, more favorable tariff rules.

Starting June 16, 2025, certain tariffs on products of the United Kingdom that fall under the World Trade Organization Agreement on Trade in Civil Aircraft will be removed. This change affects imports of civil aircraft and related parts covered by that WTO agreement.
