Large Louisiana Gas Storage Expansion

Pine Prairie wants to build a new cavern (Cavern No. 6) with 10.8 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of working gas (15.4 Bcf total), add a 19,000-horsepower electric compressor, 2.37 miles of 30-inch header loop pipeline, a brine filtration system, and other facilities at the PPEC Facility in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. The company proposes to restate certificated capacity from 102.6 Bcf to 87.2 Bcf (61.1 Bcf working, 26.1 Bcf base), reduce maximum daily delivery from 3.2 Bcf/day to 3.0 Bcf/day, and add up to 0.3 Bcf/day of incremental injection and up to 0.5 Bcf/day of incremental withdrawal capacity; the application says this will improve the facility's operational capabilities and system reliability.
