Pipeline steel standard becomes mandatory

Starting July 1, 2025, pipeline companies, builders, and maintenance contractors must follow the updated ASTM A381/A381M-18 steel pipe standard for high-pressure transmission systems. PHMSA incorporated this standard into 49 CFR parts 192 and 195 to make pipes safer and stronger.
