Public access limited by executive sessions
The SAS and GAC meetings are open to the public, but parts may be closed as an executive session. When closed, sensitive topics (like possible U.S. negotiating positions) may be discussed privately and public participation will be excluded for those portions.
Draft U.S. proposals and science updates presented
The meeting will include presentations of draft U.S. proposals to submit to the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission and updates from recent IATTC stock assessments and working groups. These presentations are intended to inform U.S. positions ahead of the IATTC Annual Meeting.
Executive session may include negotiating positions
An executive session may be called to discuss sensitive information, including possible U.S. negotiating positions for the upcoming IATTC Annual Meeting. Those portions of the meeting will not be open to the public.
