Reports Used To Decide Access and Fitness

If you submit a self-report, Department of Justice Security and Emergency Planning Staff and component security offices will review, evaluate, and adjudicate the information to determine your continued fitness for employment or continued eligibility for access to national security information.

Electronic Reporting via iReport Allowed

If you are a contractor or other non-federal employee processed for access to classified information, you may use the Department of Justice's automated reporting system called iReport to submit required self-reportable activities; if you have no access to the IT system you may use PDF fillable forms. The collection request explicitly covers a department-wide population of 57,744 and provides the electronic option for those covered.

Small Time Burden for Required Reports

The Department estimates the department-wide population covered is 57,744, that only 3% (about 1,732 people) will actually need to self-report, that the average response takes less than 10 minutes, and that the total annual burden is 389 hours.
