The Bureau of Land Management proposes to transfer about 158.41 acres in Rapides and LaSalle Parishes to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to develop and manage it for recreation like hunting, trapping, boating, camping, and bird watching. Use-Requirement and Reversion Terms Protect Access
If the land is conveyed, the patent will include terms that reserve mineral deposits to the United States and require that the land be used for the intended recreational purpose; the property will revert to the United States if it is not used for that purpose for a 5-year period or is transferred or devoted to another use without consent. The conveyance will also include covenants such as indemnifying the United States and protections for cultural and endangered species resources.
