Published Date: 4/22/2026

Notice

Summary

The U.S. International Trade Commission decided that some redesigned light-based health devices don’t break the patents claimed by Masimo and Cercacor. Because of this, these devices won’t be blocked from being sold in the U.S. This ends the investigation that started in 2021, meaning companies can keep selling their updated products without extra costs or delays.

Redesigned Devices Can Keep Selling

If you make or sell the redesigned light-based physiological measurement devices, the U.S. International Trade Commission found on April 17, 2026 that those redesigned products do not infringe the asserted Masimo/Cercacor patents. Because of that finding, the redesigned devices will not be excluded from being sold in the United States and the combined modification/enforcement proceeding was terminated.

Consumers Keep Access to Updated Devices

You can continue to buy the updated light-based physiological measurement devices in the U.S. The Commission concluded on April 17, 2026 that the redesigned products do not infringe the asserted patents, so they will not be blocked from U.S. sale.
