Foreign-built Vessel May Harm U.S. Builders
MARAD is asking whether the foreign-built M/V PIXAN KAAB should be allowed to operate in U.S. coastwise trade as a small passenger vessel carrying no more than 12 passengers for hire. MARAD will decide if that use would have an undue adverse effect on U.S. vessel builders or on coastwise trade businesses that employ U.S.-built vessels.
How to Comment — Deadline and Confidentiality
You can submit comments on MARAD's request about the M/V PIXAN KAAB by June 1, 2026 at https://www.regulations.gov (DOT Docket Number MARAD-2026-0661) or by mail/hand delivery to the DOT Docket Management Facility.
