MARAD is considering whether to allow the foreign-built small passenger vessel M/V ENDEAVOUR (authorized to carry no more than 12 passengers for hire) to operate in U.S. coastwise trade. MARAD is asking whether that use would have an adverse effect on United States vessel builders and is accepting comments through June 1, 2026.
Coastwise Operators Could Face Competition
MARAD is requesting comment on whether allowing the foreign-built M/V ENDEAVOUR to operate in U.S. coastal trade would adversely affect coastwise trade businesses that use U.S.-built vessels. Interested parties may submit comments identified by docket MARAD-2026-0662 through June 1, 2026.
