Class E Airspace Removed Over Heliport

The FAA is removing the portion of Class E airspace that was tied to the Honesdale Sports Complex Heliport because the heliport is abandoned and its instrument approaches were canceled. That airspace will revert to uncontrolled airspace effective 0901 UTC on September 3, 2026. The FAA states this change will not cost anyone extra or cause delays, and pilots flying near Honesdale should note the new boundaries to keep skies safe.

Cherry Ridge Airspace Unchanged (6.3-mile Radius)

The Class E airspace that protects Cherry Ridge Airport remains in place as airspace extending upward from 700 feet above the surface within a 6.3-mile radius of Cherry Ridge Airport. This status is unchanged by the rule and continues after the September 3, 2026 effective date. Pilots operating to or from Cherry Ridge are unaffected by the heliport-related removal.
