Big South Fork concession extended
The National Park Service intends to extend the concession contract for Wilderness Lodging, LLC at Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area effective June 17, 2026, until June 16, 2027, or until a new contract becomes effective. The extension is meant to avoid interruption of visitor services and lets the concessioner continue operating without immediate changes to fees or services.
Fire Island concession extended
The National Park Service intends to extend the concession contract for Love Watch Hill & Sailors Haven, Inc. at Fire Island National Seashore effective January 1, 2027, until December 31, 2028, or until a new contract becomes effective. The extension is intended to avoid interruption of visitor services and allows the concessioner to continue operating without immediate changes to fees or services.
Visitor services kept running
If you visit Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area or Fire Island National Seashore, the NPS intends to extend the listed concession contracts so visitor services continue without interruption. The extensions run to the listed expiration dates (Big South Fork through June 16, 2027; Fire Island through December 31, 2028) or until a new contract becomes effective, and allow operations to continue without immediate changes to fees or services.
