Exclusive Patent License to University

The Air Force intends to grant joint ownership and an exclusive patent license to the University of Kansas Center for Technology Commercialization for U.S. Patent No. 12,320,885 (issued June 3, 2025) and a continuation application (No. 19/214,006 filed June 3, 2025). The exclusive license is stated to cover “all fields,” which gives the university sole rights to the patented technology unless a successful objection is filed.

15-Day Objection Window for Competitors

Anyone who objects to the proposed exclusive license must file a written objection within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of publication. A competing patent license application that complies with 37 CFR 404.8 and is received within that 15-day period will be treated as an objection and may be considered as an alternative to the proposed license.
