Albert Pike Statue Removal Act
Sponsored By: Representative Del. Norton, Eleanor Holmes [D-DC-At Large]
Introduced
Summary
Directs removal and rehoming of the Albert Pike statue in Washington, D.C. This bill would require the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the National Park Service director, to remove the statue near Judiciary Square and donate it to a museum or similar indoor institution for preservation and interpretation. The recipient may not store, display, or exhibit the statue outdoors. If the statue is stored, displayed, or exhibited outside, ownership would revert to the federal government.
