For July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026, the law adds about $783.6 million to Medicaid. It also cuts about $676.3 million from Medicaid trustee and benefit payments across the Coordinated, Enhanced, Basic, and Expansion plans. These changes take effect on passage and approval.
Beginning July 1, 2026, Idaho funds Medicaid at about $1.163 billion for the year. About $106.2 million is for operations and about $1.057 billion is for benefit payments. The law also cuts about $669.9 million from Medicaid trustee and benefit payments across the Coordinated, Enhanced, Basic, and Expansion plans.
Sections 3 and 4 take effect on and after passage and approval. Sections 1 and 2 take effect on and after July 1, 2026. This sets when the listed Medicaid funding increases and cuts begin.
