More long-term care help in Aroostook

The state provides a one-time $107,425 in fiscal year 2026-27 to Maine DHHS, Office of Aging and Disability Services. The money supports long-term care ombudsman services in Aroostook County only. This funds free advocacy and complaint help for residents and their caregivers in nursing homes and similar facilities. There is no funding in fiscal year 2025-26. The law takes effect April 16, 2026.
