Civics seal for New Hampshire graduates
The law creates a state civics excellence seal for high school diplomas. The Department of Education runs the program and sets the criteria. To earn it, finish two years of social studies, including one U.S. government or civics class. Also join a civic project, student government, or a civic group, and show civics skill by a test, a portfolio, or other mastery work. Starting with the class of 2027, school boards may add the seal to diplomas. If the seal is awarded, the transcript must note it. The law takes effect 60 days after passage. The seal is optional for schools.
