Organ donor info at hospitals and online

Beginning May 6, 2026, licensed health care facilities give patients information before discharge on how to access the state organ donor registry. The Division of Wildlife Resources posts donor sign‑up information and a registry link on its website, unless it already does so under the state’s comprehensive communications plan. The Utah State Tax Commission includes donor sign‑up information and a registry link in each individual income tax instruction booklet and on its website, unless covered by that plan. These changes increase access to donor registration and do not change your tax bill.

State coalition to promote life-saving programs

Starting May 6, 2026, the Department of Health and Human Services convenes a coalition of state‑funded and state‑sponsored life‑saving programs. The department creates a comprehensive plan to use state publication channels to share information about these programs. The plan sets best practices, may include a schedule tied to governor‑declared periods, and can guide how costs are shared. This coordination aims to help more people learn about programs that save lives.
