Utah bans transgender hormones for minors

The law bars Utah health care providers from giving hormonal transgender treatment to minors starting May 6, 2026. A minor can get this care only if they were diagnosed with gender dysphoria before January 28, 2023. Beginning January 28, 2027, providers also cannot treat any minor who would have been under 16 on May 6, 2026, or who had not started cross-sex hormones by that date. Violations are unprofessional conduct under state law.
