Beginning May 6, 2026, the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity has a Permitting Coordinator. The executive director appoints the coordinator and oversees the work. The coordinator helps permit seekers find needed state permits and the right agencies. The coordinator is a central contact, posts guidance, and coordinates reviews to support timely decisions. The coordinator also works with tribal governments and federal agencies to align state and federal permits. Each year, the office reports on help provided, common permitting problems, and recommended fixes.
Starting May 6, 2026, the coordinator does not issue, deny, or change any permit. Permitting agencies keep their full authority and rules. The law does not grant faster or preferred review. The coordinator’s help does not cover simple ministerial permits or personal licenses, IDs, or registrations.
