Beginning July 1, 2026, the governor’s salary equals the Utah Supreme Court chief justice’s total pay, including the extra amount in Subsection 78A-3-101(3)(g). The lieutenant governor gets 90% of the governor’s salary, the attorney general 95%, and the state auditor and state treasurer 90% each. These salaries adjust automatically when the chief justice’s pay changes.
Beginning July 1, 2026, the governor gets a set benefits package: a vehicle for official and personal use; housing; household and security staff; and coverage like health, dental, basic life, long‑term disability, workers’ comp, retirement, and employer Social Security. The lieutenant governor, attorney general, state auditor, and state treasurer also get a vehicle and insurance. They may choose a state retirement system (Ch. 12, 13, or 22 of Title 49) or a deferred compensation plan run by the State Retirement Office. All listed officers receive the same additional state‑paid life insurance available to other noncareer service employees. Each office pays for that extra life insurance from its own existing budget.
