Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

New matching fund for senior meals

Beginning May 6, 2026, the state runs a new fund that matches private donations to support home-delivered meals for seniors. Money comes from state appropriations, private donations, and interest. The Division of Aging and Adult Services can give money to local area agencies that raise qualifying donations. Agencies must use the money to match those donations and pay for home-delivered meals.

Tighter rules for donation matches

Beginning May 6, 2026, only certain donations count for matching. A donation cannot be in-kind, from a service recipient, or money already used for another match. Public entity gifts count only if received after December 31, 2025, and only the increase over last year is eligible. The fund cannot include any donations or appropriations made before July 1, 2025.
