Certified recovery-ready workplaces to help workers
Beginning May 6, 2026, the state runs a Recovery Ready Workplace certification. The Department of Health and Human Services sets the application and rules under Utah’s Administrative Rulemaking Act. Employers can apply and must meet the standards. Criteria can include prevention training, lowering barriers to care, offering naloxone at work, sharing recovery resources, and wellness policies that support treatment. The program operates only with funds approved by the Legislature. Money from the e‑cigarette and nicotine proceeds account can support it if appropriated, and that funding authority ends July 1, 2030.
