Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

New $15,000 independence account for workers

You can deposit up to $15,000 of your gross pay into an independence account in any 12 months. Deposits must come from your own earnings. When the Department of Health Services checks assets for this program, it does not count assets you received by inheritance.

Federal approval required for rollout

The Department of Health Services must ask the federal government for approval if that is needed to run these rules. The department implements them only to the extent the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services does not disapprove. This can delay or limit who can use the new rule.
