Expanded business credits for housing and child care

Businesses can claim a tax credit up to 15% of what they invest in workforce housing for employees. They can also get up to 15% back on money to start an employee child care program. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation decides the exact percent and award. Qualifying investments now include a business’s capital spending and payments to a third party, including a local revolving loan fund, that builds or rehabs housing or sets up child care. These rules apply to taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2025.
