Science teacher training and free gear

The Department of Public Instruction runs a two-year pilot in the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. It provides science training to teachers who teach K-12 students in Wisconsin. DPI works with Wisconsin nonprofit groups that offer this training. If the training involves science equipment, DPI may give that gear free for classroom use at the teacher’s school. By October 1, 2027, DPI reports how many people trained, what equipment was provided, and which groups gave the training. Within 45 days after this section takes effect, DPI must ask the Joint Committee on Finance to add funding from 2025 Wisconsin Act 15 to the program’s budget.
