Native students can wear tribal regalia

If you are a Native student tied to a tribe, you can wear traditional tribal regalia at graduations and any school event. You qualify if you are a tribal member, a descendant of one, or eligible to enroll. Public school boards and charter schools may not ban this. Traditional tribal regalia includes a tribe’s dress and meaningful cultural or religious items, like symbols, beads, and feathers. The rule covers tribes that are federally recognized now or were recognized in the past.
