Longer open enrollment window for military families
If your child’s home changed because of military orders, you now have 90 days from the date on the orders to apply for alternative open enrollment. The nonresident school board must receive the application by day 90. For this purpose, military orders include orders from any U.S. service branch, reserve units, the state defense force, or any state’s National Guard. The change applies to applications the school board receives on the subsection’s effective date.
