Grants must be used for education-related items and programs that improve teaching, learning, research, or access to postbaccalaureate study. Allowed uses include buying or leasing science and lab equipment; fixing, building, or upgrading classrooms, labs, libraries, and related tech; buying library and educational materials; helping low-income postbaccalaureate students with outreach, tutoring, mentoring, scholarships, fellowships, or other aid so they can enroll; supporting faculty work and curriculum; creating or improving internet or distance-education facilities; working with other colleges to expand postbaccalaureate offerings; and other activities in the grant application that further the program’s goals and are approved by the Secretary.
