The Corporation can give help to qualified applicants who apply under the program’s application rules for planning, starting, running, or growing national service programs. Planning help can last up to 1 year. Help to start, operate, or expand a program can last up to 3 years and can be renewed if the applicant submits a new application. Expanding a proven program to a new area follows the same 3-year, renewable rule. If a State or any other grantee plans to use the funds to run a grant program that supports other national service programs, these same rules must be followed.
