Summary

Each year the Secretary of Energy must send the updated technology transfer plan to the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and include a report on progress of programs under sections 9001–9005 and 10714, 10718, 10719, 10720, and 10723. No later than 3 years after December 27, 2020, and every 3 years after that, the Secretary must send those committees an evaluation of how programs under sections 9001–9005 and 10713, 10714, 10715, and 10717 are performing, using short‑term and long‑term measures.

(a)As part of the updated technology transfer execution plan required each year under section 16391(h)(2) of this title, the Secretary of Energy (in this section referred to as the “Secretary”) shall submit to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report on the progress and implementation of programs established under section 9001, 9002, 9003, 9004, and 9005 of this Act and under section 10714, 10718, 10719, 10720, and 10723 of the Research and Development, Competition, and Innovation Act.
(b)Not later than 3 years after December 27, 2020, and every 3 years thereafter the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate an evaluation on the extent to which programs established under section 9001, 9002, 9003, 9004, and 9005 of this Act and section 10713, 10714, 10715, and 10717 of the Research and Development, Competition, and Innovation Act are achieving success based on relevant short-term and long-term metrics.
