2023 Venezuela TPS Ends April 7, 2025
If you are a Venezuelan national (or an alien with no nationality who last habitually resided in Venezuela) granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) under the October 3, 2023 designation, you will lose TPS effective at 11:59 p.m. local time on April 7, 2025. After that date, individuals covered only by the 2023 designation will no longer be allowed to remain in the United States under that TPS designation.
Work Authorization and No Transition Period
When the October 3, 2023 TPS designation ends, beneficiaries under that designation will lose TPS-related documentation such as Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) as of the termination date; the Secretary determined not to allow for an additional orderly transition period beyond the 60-day notice. The termination is effective 60 days after publication of this notice (April 7, 2025).
2021 Venezuela TPS Still In Effect
If you are registered for TPS under the March 9, 2021 designation for Venezuela, that 2021 designation remains in effect until September 10, 2025, so you continue to have TPS and its protections through that date. The termination in this notice does not apply to individuals registered under the 2021 designation.
