Temporary Allegheny River Safety Zone
The Coast Guard will establish a temporary safety zone on the Allegheny River from mile marker 20.5 to mile marker 21.5 in Creighton, PA for a powerboat regatta on June 7–8, 2025. Boats and people may not enter that area unless authorized; the rule is intended to protect racers and spectators and the Coast Guard states it will not cost anyone extra money.
Authorization Required to Enter Zone
During June 7–8, 2025, persons and vessels are prohibited from being in the regulated area on the Allegheny River (mile 20.5–21.5) unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Pittsburgh or a designated representative. If you plan to be on that part of the river at those times, you must obtain permission to enter.
