Easement for Lake Keowee Water Intake
Pickens Regional Joint Water System asked for a 0.37-acre easement to build, operate, and maintain a raw water intake on Lake Keowee. The intake would allow a gross maximum instantaneous withdrawal of 16.5 million gallons per day and a gross maximum average annual withdrawal of 12 MGD, located in Transylvania County, NC and Oconee and Pickens counties, SC. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff prepared an Environmental Assessment and concluded that, with appropriate environmental protective measures, the proposed action would not be a major federal action significantly affecting the human environment.
