Published Date: 2/11/2026
Notice
Summary
FERC is asking for public comments on its gas pipeline reporting rules, which help keep pipeline capacity and pricing info clear and fair. This affects interstate gas pipelines that must keep sharing their data online, with no changes to the current rules. Comments are due by April 13, 2026, so pipelines and shippers should get ready to weigh in—no new costs or deadlines, just a smooth continuation!
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
Pipelines Must Keep Posting Capacity Data
If you operate an interstate natural gas pipeline or storage facility, you must continue to post firm and interruptible service details on your website in downloadable file formats, keep that information available for at least 90 days, file an index of all firm transportation and storage customers on the first business day of each calendar quarter, and file an annual peak‑day capacity report by March 1 each year.
Shippers Keep Access to Capacity & Price Info
If you are a shipper of interstate natural gas, pipelines must continue to post reliable information about capacity availability and price so you can make informed decisions and so the Commission and shippers can monitor the market for anti-competitive behavior. The rules require equal and timely access to information whenever capacity is scheduled and enable shippers to release transportation and storage capacity to others.
