Temporary No‑Entry Zones for Boaters
From June 12 through June 14, 2026, certain areas of the York River in Yorktown, VA are closed to non‑participants unless authorized by the Captain of the Port. The Parade of Sail zone is enforced 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on June 12; a fireworks zone is enforced 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on June 13; and a Search and Rescue Demonstration zone will be enforced for one hour on June 13 and one hour on June 14 (specific times announced). The Search and Rescue area covers all waters within 800 feet of center position 37°14'15" N, 076°30'22" W and the fireworks area covers all waters within 300 feet of center position 37°14'7" N, 076°30'15" W.

If you need to enter a regulated area during enforcement, you must obtain permission from the Captain of the Port (COTP) or a designated representative. To seek permission contact the COTP or the COTP's representative on VHF‑FM channel 16 or by telephone at 877‑722‑5727.

The Coast Guard will announce specific enforcement times via Broadcast Notice to Mariners on VHF‑FM channel 16 and on‑scene designated representatives will enforce the zones. You should monitor VHF channel 16 for advance notice of enforcement periods during June 12–14, 2026.
