July 4 Safety Zone Blocks Bay Access
On July 4, 2026, all vessels and people are prohibited from entering designated areas of San Francisco Bay without Coast Guard permission between 4:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. The safety zone covers all waters within a 1,200-yard radius of each fireworks barge (Pier 39 Barge Zone 37.814268 N, -122.41706 W; Golden Gate Barge Zone 37.817442 N, -122.465684 W) and a 1,200-yard radius around the Golden Gate Bridge (37.817667 N, -122.478333 W); Pier 68 has a separate enforcement window from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., barges transiting are enforced 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and display zones are enforced 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. To seek permission to enter, contact the Captain of the Port or a designated representative on VHF-FM channel 16.
