Animal Welfare Data Collection Reinstated

The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is reinstating the Animal Welfare information collection under OMB Control Number 0579-0036. The collection covers licensing, registrations, reports, inspections, recordkeeping, permits, and other items for regulated parties, lists 381,316 respondents and totals 228,953 burden hours, and is open for comment until August 5, 2026.

Forms Now Ask If Home Address

License applications and renewals under the Animal Welfare Act now include a request to identify whether the business mailing address is a personal residence. Dealers, exhibitors, operators of auction sales, research facilities, carriers, and intermediate handlers will need to report that information on their APHIS forms.
