Notice

Summary

In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, DoD announces the proposed extension of a public information collection requirement and seeks public comment on the provisions thereof. DoD invites comments on: whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of DoD, including whether the information will have practical utility; the accuracy of DoD's estimate of the burden of the proposed information collection; ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and ways to minimize the burden of the information collection on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved this information collection for use under Control Number 0750-0002 through October 31, 2026. DoD proposes that OMB approve an extension of the information collection requirement, to expire three years after the approval date.

DoD contract bids must state covered telecoms

If you bid on DoD contracts, DFARS 252.204-7017 requires you to represent whether you will or will not provide covered defense telecommunications equipment or services under the contract (this follows the solicitation provision at 252.204-7016). This representation is part of the information collection approved under OMB Control Number 0750-0002.

Contractors must report covered telecoms found later

If you are a DoD contractor and identify covered telecommunications equipment, systems, or services during contract performance, DFARS 252.204-7018 requires you to report those items. The reporting requirement is part of the information collection under OMB Control Number 0750-0002.

Paperwork extension with set burden estimates

DoD seeks to extend OMB Control Number 0750-0002 (currently approved through October 31, 2026) for three more years after approval; the collection lists 3,446 respondents, about 50 responses per respondent, 172,320 annual responses, an average burden of 0.36 hour per response, and 62,085 annual burden hours. DoD will consider comments received by September 25, 2026.
