Purchasing System Disapproval Risks
If your contractor purchasing system is found to have material weaknesses, the contracting officer can disapprove the system, which would require Government consent for individual subcontracts and may lead to financial withholds or other Government rights and remedies. The rule requires the contractor to respond within 30 days to a written initial determination identifying material weaknesses, and if a final determination is issued the contractor has 45 days to correct the weaknesses or submit an acceptable corrective action plan.
Contractor Information Burden Hours
If you are a contractor or subcontractor subject to DFARS Part 244, you must provide information to DoD. The DoD estimates 10 respondents will submit 20 total responses per year, each response averaging 8 hours, for 160 total annual burden hours, and notes the burden calculation has been reduced due to a change in the Government's process.
