The State of Kansas asked to run a SNAP demonstration that would change the SNAP definition of food for purchase to exclude "candy and soft drinks." The State formally requested this on or about May 8, 2025 and requested implementation on February 15, 2027; the public may submit written comments by October 15, 2026.
