VA disability and survivor checks increase
Beginning December 1, 2024, VA disability pay, survivor benefits, extra pay for dependents, and the clothing allowance go up. Each payment rises by the same percentage as the Social Security cost-of-living increase that takes effect December 1, 2024. The change applies to the rates in effect on November 30, 2024. VA may make matching adjustments for some older disability cases not paid under today’s compensation program. VA must publish the new rates by the same deadline as Social Security’s COLA publication for 2025.
