2026 World Cup coins from U.S. Mint
The law creates three FIFA World Cup 2026 coins, sold only in 2026. Up to 100,000 $5 gold, 500,000 $1 silver, and 750,000 half-dollars are authorized. Coins can be proof or uncirculated. The Mint may raise mintages if research shows strong demand. Designs must highlight soccer and the World Cup and include the year 2026 and required inscriptions. These coins are legal tender and count as numismatic items.
Coin surcharges fund U.S. soccer
The Mint prices each coin at face value plus a surcharge and Mint costs. Surcharges are $35 on $5 gold, $10 on $1 silver, and $5 on half-dollars. Bulk and prepaid orders get reasonable discounts. Surcharge money goes to FWC2026 US, Inc. to support U.S. soccer programs, with audits. No surcharge is added if it would exceed the two-program annual cap. Treasury recovers all program costs before paying any surcharge funds.
