Cancel money-laundering rule for home sales
This resolution would void FinCEN’s rule on anti-money laundering for residential real estate transfers (89 Fed. Reg. 70258, Aug. 29, 2024). If enacted, the rule would have no force or effect. Real estate agents, title companies, and people in home deals would not have the new reporting steps. This could lower paperwork and costs, but could also reduce money-laundering checks in communities. The change would take effect upon enactment.
