Medal of Honor recipients: access and liaison
If enacted, people listed on the Medal of Honor Roll would be issued a common access card or similar ID. That card would let them enter any military installation and the Pentagon without being accompanied. The bill would also create a Department of Defense Medal of Honor Liaison, appointed by the Secretary of Defense. The liaison would be the main DoD contact for recipients and their families, coordinate medal replacement and standardize how recipients are treated, do public outreach, and advise the Secretary about recipients serving on active duty, including in combat.
