Sponsored By: Representative Pfluger, August [R-TX-11]
Introduced
Summary
Bars Iran from accessing certain U.S.-authorized funds and bans reissuing related waivers or licenses. This bill would rescind a specific waiver and any Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control licenses tied to those funds and would prohibit future waivers, licenses, FAQs, or other guidance that let Iran or Iranian persons benefit from the same accounts.

Block waivers letting Iran access funds
If enacted, this would cancel a specific Treasury waiver sent to Congress on September 11, 2023, for moving funds from the Republic of Korea to Qatar. Any related OFAC licenses would also end on the date of enactment. Going forward, the President would be barred from issuing similar waivers or licenses. It would also stop any licensing or guidance that lets the Government of Iran or Iranian persons access or benefit from accounts set up under the 2012 Iran sanctions law.
