Show full summary
- Removes seven named species from the ESA lists. The bill targets Arabian oryx, banteng, Eld's brow-antlered deer, Grevy's zebra, red lechwe, seledang, and swamp deer.
- Prevents any determination that the Bukharan markhor (Capra falconeri heptneri) is a threatened or endangered species by adding an exception to section 4(a) of the Act.
- Changes the Secretary's regulatory duty in section 4(a) and applies the changes "notwithstanding any other provision of law," so the listing-status changes take effect within the ESA framework.

Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
Block listing of Bukharan markhor
The bill would bar the government from listing the Bukharan markhor as threatened or endangered. If you own land or run a business where this subspecies may occur, you would not face Endangered Species Act listing rules for it. This would take effect upon enactment.
Seven animals removed from Endangered Species Act lists
The bill would remove seven named animals from the Endangered Species Act lists: Arabian oryx, banteng, Eld's brow-antlered deer, Grevy's zebra, red lechwe, seledang, and swamp deer. If you own land or run a business where these animals are present, you would likely face fewer Endangered Species Act rules. Protections for these species would be reduced. This would take effect upon enactment.
