Natural Gas Tax Repeal Act
Sponsored By: Representative Pfluger, August [R-TX-11]
Introduced
Summary
Repeals the methane emissions and waste reduction incentive program for petroleum and natural gas systems. The bill would repeal Section 136 of the Clean Air Act and end the authority, requirements, and obligations tied to that program. It would also rescind any unobligated balances that had been made available under Section 136, recovering unspent program funds. The bill's effect is limited to removing the Section 136 program and reclaiming those unobligated amounts.
