Keep trust status for some tribal lands

If enacted, this bill would confirm that certain tribal lands stay in federal trust. It would cover land taken into trust under the Act of June 18, 1934 (25 U.S.C. 5108) before this bill becomes law. It would apply only if the tribe was federally recognized on the date the land was taken into trust. This would not create new programs or funding. For affected tribes and people on those parcels, it would keep existing federal protections and jurisdiction in place as of enactment.
